# Get Started with Glade API: Fetch Amazon Data in Minutes

> Learn how to create an API key, authenticate, and make your first Glade API call to fetch Amazon product data in under five minutes.

Glade API lets you fetch normalized Amazon data with a single HTTP request. This guide walks you through creating an account, generating your API key, and making your first call.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your account">
    Go to the [Glade API dashboard](https://gladeapi.com/auth/login?next=/dashboard) and sign up for a free account. No credit card is required — every new account includes 100 free units.

    Once you are logged in, navigate to the **API Keys** section and click **New key**. Your key is displayed exactly once at creation time, so copy it immediately and store it somewhere safe (for example, a `.env` file or your team's secrets manager).

    Your key will look like this:

    ```text theme={null}
    glade_live_<lookup-prefix>_<secret>
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make your first request">
    Replace `YOUR_GLADE_API_KEY` with your actual API key and run the following command in your terminal:

    ```bash theme={null}
    curl "https://gladeapi.com/api/amazon/product?asin=B0D1XD1ZV3&domain=US" \
      -H "API-KEY: YOUR_GLADE_API_KEY"
    ```

    This fetches product data for the ASIN `B0D1XD1ZV3` from the US marketplace. Responses may come from Glade's cache; freshness headers identify when the underlying data was fetched.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the response">
    A successful response returns a JSON object with a `data` key containing the normalized product record:

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "data": {
        "amazonProduct": {
          "asin": "B0D1XD1ZV3",
          "title": "Example Product Title",
          "brand": "ExampleBrand",
          "price": {
            "value": 34.99,
            "currency": "USD",
            "display": "$34.99"
          },
          "rating": 4.5,
          "ratingsTotal": 1248,
          "isInStock": true,
          "isPrime": true
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Price fields and availability flags are optional because Amazon may not expose them for every listing. When present, `value` is numeric and `currency` is an ISO 4217 code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Try another marketplace">
    Change the `domain` parameter to target a different Amazon marketplace. For example, to fetch the same ASIN's UK listing with GBP pricing:

    ```bash theme={null}
    curl "https://gladeapi.com/api/amazon/product?asin=B0D1XD1ZV3&domain=UK" \
      -H "API-KEY: YOUR_GLADE_API_KEY"
    ```

    You can substitute any of the 13 supported domain codes — `US`, `UK`, `CA`, `DE`, `FR`, `IT`, `ES`, `AU`, `IN`, `MX`, `BR`, `JP`, or `PL` — without changing anything else in your request. Glade API resolves the correct Amazon host, currency, and locale for each market automatically.
